"Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me">
We are a Bible believing Evangelical Church, based in Hoyland, with a vision for Outreach to the Community. We have a number of people in the church who do speak, but there is also a large input from outside speakers carefully chosen for their anointing and sound doctrine.
Our style of worship is mixed between modern choruses and traditional hymns, conducted by a worship leader, but also members of the congregation have an input.
We do meet with other local churches and fellowships on special occasions, this gives us an opportunity to fellowship with other Christians in the area. Various members in our congregation have ministries and, as a leadership we seek to promote these and foster the growth of a live and loving fellowship.
This Statement sums up what we Believe as a Fellowship. In no way does it restrict what God may have to teach us in the future.
We affirm our faith in the whole revelation of God in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, and as witnessed to in the Apostles’ and Nicene Creeds.
The following points are of special importance:
The Unity of the Godhead, and the Trinity of persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, therein.
The Diving Inspiration and Authority of the Bible in all Matters of Belief and Behaviour.
The personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ in glory.
The eternal deity and personality of the Holy Spirit.
The Fruit of the Spirit, manifesting the Character of Christ in believers; and the Gifts of the Spirit manifesting the Power of Christ through the Church.
Salvation for universally sinful mankind, only through faith in the finished work of Christ on the Cross, applied to each person in the New Birth.
The devil and demons are real, but vanquised by Christ, through His Cross.
The Resurrection of the body, the last judgement and eternal heaven and hell.
The Church as the expression, or body of Christ, consisting of all true believers who are related together in a visible fellowship.
A Christian is one who has repented of his sins and put his faith in the Lord Jesus. His life of obedience should begin in baptism in water.
The power to live as a functioning member of the body of Christ’s body, is given and nurtured by the baptism, or filling with the Holy Spirit, as witnessed in Acts 2:38-39.
All who confess Jesus as Lord and follow Him, we accept as Christians, and receive as brothers.
Christians who are accounted as being part of THIS fellowship must be visibly committed to this particular manifestation of the body of Christ.
The Church is God’s Family. We seek to behave towards one another in love, truth and openness, with the order and mutual respect that befits God’s children.
